COMP Cams Super Dirt Series Invades Texas and Louisiana this Weekend

Beebe, Arkansas (05/06/14) – The COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) presented by Lucas Oil is set to travel to Texas and Louisiana this weekend for a pair of $2,000-to-win events.

A repeat winner has yet to be found on the tour in 2014, and last weekend the streak remained alive with Texas hot shoe, Ronny Adams, claiming the first series' win of his career with a triumph at I-30 Speedway (Little Rock, Arkansas). He joins Billy Moyer Jr., Tommy Weder Jr., Scott Bloomquist, Timothy Culp, and Wendell Wallace as victors thus far into the season.

Defending series' champion, Kyle Beard from Trumann, Arkansas continues to hold a narrow lead atop the standings with an eight point advantage over Tommy Surrett and Clay Fisher, who are dead-locked for the second spot. Brandon Smith, Shannon Scott, Rick Hearnsberger, Kody Mea, Wendell Wallace, Jack Sullivan, Lynn Beach, David Payne, Keith Craft, and Joseph Long round out the current standings.

The Kuntz & Co. Rookie of the Year battle is shaping up to be a good one with Henryetta, Oklahoma's Shannon Scott holding a tight lead over Rick Hearnsberger, Kody Mea, and David Payne.

This weekend, May 9th-10th, drivers will get two chances to make up ground in the points as rounds seven and eight of the 2014 season will be contested. Action opens on Friday night with a $2,000-to-win/$300-to-start event at Timberline Speedway (Corley, Texas). Kyle Beard claimed the lone series event at the facility in 2013. Also in action will be Factory Stocks, Super Stocks, and Limited Modifieds. Grandstand admission for adults is $20 with kids (ages 6-12) $5, and kids (ages 5 & under) FREE. Pit Passes are $35. Gates open at 5pm with racing action at 7:30pm. For more information on the event please visit www.TimberlineSpeedway.com .

Saturday evening will see the stars and cars of the CCSDS competing in their second event of 2014 at the racy confines of Ark-La-Tex Speedway (Vivian, Louisiana). Earlier this season in a co-sanctioned event with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Scott Bloomquist raced to victory at the 1/4 mile oval. A complete program culminating with a $2,000-to-win/$400-to-start event will be held. Modifieds, Limited Modifieds, ProMods, Factory Stocks, and Beginners will also be in action. Grandstand admission is $20 with kids (ages 10 & under) free. Pit passes are $35. Gates open at 5pm with racing action at 7:30pm.
