Why do most mount their j-bar 1 1/2 inch above pinion? What does it change as far as handling? Mine is mounted even with pinion just like on a 9 inch. If you mount it above pinion and set frame mount at a height that will give you the same split as before on the 9 inch, say 5 inches, does my droop stay the same. I don't want to over-rotate the birdcages. Thanks

Confused?

The higher the j-bar, the looser the car and less body roll.

The pinion on a quick change is about 2" lower than one on a 9" That being said, if the j-bar was mounted center on a 9" and then a quick change was installed, with the j-bar mounted center again, it will be 2" lower. This will increase body roll and make the car much tighter

OK, thanks Confused? My car is still on the loose side and I was trying to make sure that where my j-bar is mounted wasn't the problem.
