Anyone ever have an issue with the rear cover nuts and studs vibrating loose? Changed everything and thread locker on everything with no luck.

check the lower shaft. you shouldnt have vibration issues

Tried safety wire and it got broke and they backed off. Put in a new lower shaft and bearings along with new cover and bearings, new studs and nuts still no luck. Just had it gone through and they found no issues, but replaced the yoke and have not been able to try it yet. It has a new drive shaft as well and I can feel no vibration but there is obviously something causing it to work loose.

whats a rudimentary way to check an axle tube? There seems to be no bind when rotating the wheels by hand. We have replaced everything that we can think of and even had it tore apart and everything was the way it should have been. The wheel studs are also somewhat loose on the rear end, could that be a possible reason for this? When they are tightened up there is no play in them and the tire is very firm against the hub.

Bolts to long and don't tighten properly? Threads on the case or nuts worn out? Maybe you can lock washer the cover bolts?

i had this problem last year with a frankland, it ended up being to much pullbar travel. the driveshaft was bottoming out into the transmission, not enough to break anything but enough to push on the lower shaft of the rear and after a few races it caused all kinds of problems and alot of $$$$. Dont know if you have the same problem or not, but something to think about

I've seen this when people use an impact to remove/tighten the aluminum nuts. The stud should be bottomed in the hole and the nut tightened just enough to compress the aluminum ring tightly against the aluminum nut. Good snug, not really very tight at all on the nuts.

the way I check for a bent axle tube is take the rear end out of car, with wheels on it, set it up on another set of wheels laying on floor.
rotate center section around, if tube is bent, you should see the wheels wobble in and out.

You can also just lay a straight edge on the axle tube in three places.

That works if it is the tube, but will not find a bent snout, or problem with the weld on a snout.

I broke the weld on the front side of the axle were snout was welded in. checked with straight edge, tube was good.
measured across the rotors, measurement was off 3/16. checked with square again, good.

Thank you all for the replies. Went to do some testing this morning to see if the yoke was the problem... and it was. One of the ears was slightly bent back farther than the other causing the problem. 20+ laps, checked periodically between sessions and they were all still torqued to the 10 pounds I had them set at. Hopefully this will be the last of this issue.
