Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series Memorial Day Weekend Trifecta May 23, 24, 25
Glasgow, KY-May 12, 2014- The Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series will return to action in the near with the tour’s first ever Memorial Day Weekend Trifecta, featuring three straight nights of racing, all in the Land of Lincoln in the state of Illinois. The weekend begins on Friday May 23 at Farmer City Raceway in Farmer City, IL with a $1,500 to win, followed by a trip on Saturday May 24 to Fairbury’s American Legion Speedway in Fairbury, IL for the inaugural Gary Cook, Jr. Memorial, paying $2,064 to win. The weekend will conclude on Sunday May 25 at Vermilion County Speedway in Danville, IL for the first ever Kim Henderson Memorial, paying $3,000 to win.
The trip for the Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series to Farmer City Raceway will be the tour’s second ever visit to the track that saw Jeff Leka of Buffalo, IL win the tour’s only other visit to the track back in 2013. The trip to Fairbury’s American Legion Speedway will be the tour’s second ever visit to that track as well, as Jeff Curl of Forrest, IL won the tour’s only other visit there back in 2013. The tour returns to Vermilion County Speedway for the third time in series history, but there are no previous winners as both of those previous visits resulted in cancellations due to inclement weather back in 2010.

The event will feature the Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series in a full program of practice, A-B group time trials, qualifying heats, B-Mains, and a 30 lap, $1,500 to win/$200 to start A-Main contest. Other divisions joining the Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series at Farmer City Raceway on Friday May 23 will be the track’s UMP Super Late Models, UMP Street Stocks, and UMP Hornets.
The following evening, the Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series will compete at Fairbury’s American Legion Speedway in Fairbury, IL on Saturday May 24. The event will feature the Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series in a full program of practice, A-B group time trials, qualifying heats, B-Mains, and the 30 lap, $2,064 to win/$200 to start 1st Annual Gary Cook, Jr. Memorial A-Main event. Other divisions joining the Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series at Fairbury’s American Legion Speedway Saturday May 24 will be the track’s UMP Super Late Models, UMP Street Stocks, and the Eden-Piercy Memorial for UMP Sportsman, paying $500 to win.
The weekend will conclude as the Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series will compete at Vermilion County Speedway in Danville, IL on Sunday May 25. The event will feature the Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series in a full program of practice, A-B group time trials, qualifying heats, B-Mains, and the 35 lap, $3,000 to win/$225 to start 1st Annual Kim Henderson Memorial A-Main event. Other divisions joining the Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series at Vermilion County Speedway on Sunday May 25 will be the track’s UMP Street Stock and Pure Stock/Factory Stock divisions.
Activities for the Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series event at Farmer City Raceway on Friday May 23 will see the pit area and general admission area open at 4:00 p.m. The drivers meeting will take place at 6:15 p.m., with practice starting at 6:30 p.m., time trials at 7:00 p.m, and racing taking the green flag at 7:30 p.m. All times listed are Central Time. Ticket prices for the event at Farmer City Raceway in the general admission area will be $12 for adults, while a pit pass will be $30.
