CARTERSVILLE, GA – Chris Holley of Dayton, TX and Shannon Lee of Lumberton, MS were the big winners in NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Week 8 competition. Holley took his sixth straight win on Saturday night at Battleground Speedway in Highlands, TX driving the Land Bridge Transportation Special to remain undefeated this season.

Holley continues to climb up the point standings and is now 11th with 300 points having raced for six of the eight weeks of NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series competition. He has a perfect Weekly Point Average of 50.

Lee picked up two wins in Week 8 NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series action driving the Billy Riels Racing GRT. The General’s first victory came on Friday night at Hattiesburg Speedway in Hattiesburg, MS, and he followed that up with a win on Saturday night at St. Tammany Raceway in Lacombe, LA.

Adam Gauldin of Talladega, AL continues to lead the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 384 points after two wins, seven top five finishes and nine top ten finishes in nine races over eight weeks. Gauldin finished third on Saturday night at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL driving the Adam Gauldin Racing GRT.

Daniel Bridgmon of Meridian, MS is second in the standings with 377 points after two wins, seven top five finishes and eight top ten finishes in nine NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series races over eight weeks. Bridgmon finished outside the top ten on Saturday night at Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS driving the Robinson Electric Supply Special, but still earned 41 points.

Lee is third in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 353 points after two wins and eight top five finishes in 11 races over eight weeks. Cruz Skinner of Oxford, AL finished fourth on Saturday night at Talladega Short Track in the Skinner Body Shop Special and is fourth in the standings with 345 points after two top five finishes and five top ten finishes in 10 races over eight weeks.

Doug Sanchagrin of Florence, MS is fifth in the standings with 341 points after one top five finish and four top ten finishes in nine races over eight weeks driving the Permanent Exterior Solutions Trak-Star. Sanchagrin finished outside the top ten on Saturday night at Jackson Motor Speedway, but still earned 41 points.

Caleb Coan of Moulton, AL took his first NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series win of the season on Saturday night at Talladega Short Track driving the Buttram Snacks Special. That vaulted Coan up to the sixth spot in the standings with 326 points after one win, five top five finishes and eight top ten finishes in eight races over seven weeks.

Mike Combs of Odenville, AL is seventh in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 324 points after one win, four top five finishes and eight top ten finishes in eight races over seven weeks. Combs finished sixth on Saturday night at Talladega Short Track driving the Pro Graphx Special.

Nick Thrash of Meridian, MS finished outside the top ten on Saturday night at Jackson Motor Speedway in the McDevitt Enterprises GRT, but still earned 41 points to hold the eighth spot in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings. Thrash has 315 points after one win, three top five finishes and seven top ten finishes in eight races over seven weeks.

Ronnie Cooper of McKenzie, TN and Cliff Williams of Star, MS round out the Top 10 of the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings and are tied for the ninth spot with 302 points apiece. Cooper finished fifth on Saturday night at Camden Speedway in Camden, TN to take his seventh straight top five finish in seven races driving the Ronnie Cooper Trucking Rocket.

Williams drove the Cliff Williams Plumbing Trak-Star to a second-place finish on Saturday night at Jackson Motor Speedway. After ten races over seven weeks, Williams has six top five finishes and seven top ten finishes.

In other NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Week 8 action, Jason Cliburn of Star, MS drove the Cliburn Performance Special to the $1,000 victory on Saturday night at Jackson Motor Speedway. Chris Mahan of Casey Springs, AL took his first win of the season on Saturday night at Arkadelphia Speedway in Bremen, AL driving the Mahan Racing Special.

Robby Moore of Brosley, MO picked up his first NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Late Model win of the season on Saturday night at Poplar Bluff Speedway in Poplar Bluff, MO driving the Moore Race Fab Trak-Star.

Mike Palasini Jr. of Leland, MS drove the MP Trucking Special to his third straight win on Saturday night at Greenville Speedway in Greenville, MS, and Bronson Berry of Huntingdon, TN took his second win of the season on Saturday night at Camden Speedway driving the Garner Brothers Farms Special.

There were two rainouts on the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Week 8 schedule; on Friday night at Batesville Motor Speedway in Batesville, AR and at Moulton Speedway in Moulton, AL.

Trak-Star Race Cars built by Boland Performance of Cuba, AL continues to lead the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Chassis Manufacturers Challenge after Moore gave them their tenth win the season. GRT Race Cars of Greenbrier, AR took over the second spot in the Chassis points with eight victories after Lee’s pair of Week 8 wins.

Rocket Chassis of Shinnston, WV is in the third spot of the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Chassis Manufacturers Challenge standings with seven wins, and CVR Race Cars of Lenoir City, TN is fourth with two wins.

Warrior Race Cars built by Goddard Performance of Knoxville, TN is in the fifth spot in the chassis standings with one win. TNT Race Cars of Piney Flats, TN is also participating in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Chassis Manufacturers Challenge and is still looking for their first win of the 2014 season.

In the first eight weeks of NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series competition, a total of 316 different drivers have earned points. The complete NeSmith Chevrolet WRS point standings are posted on the NeSmith Chevrolet WRS web site at www.nesmithracing.com.
