So I've gotten a full set of Integra IDA shocks, and I'm not sure what I need to set the gas pressure in them.

How are you guys doing it ?

Also, if a shock *isn't* extending out to it's full length when sitting in my office, does that mean it has 0 PSI gas in it ?

Assume I know nothing at all, 'cause I kinda might not :)

Thanks !

Honestly man your best bet is call integra !! Clowns like Brian Gray answer your questions on here and Brian couldn't buy a set of idas if he sold everything he owns so how could he possibly tell you how to use them ?

dam huck, I like some of your post, BUT you need to let this crap go or at least keep it in the gossip section,.........as for your question racerX , the integras ive been envolved with, we started with 50psi in both rt side shocks, 75psi in lft frt, and 100 in left rear and went from there, don't know if this is there recommendation, but it was a good starting point for us.......

Right off the Integra website. http://www.integrashocksandsprings.com/general/assets/PDFs/IntegraInternalDoubleAdjustable2014.pdf
Print it and put it in your note book

and this is the tool you need to fill them http://www.ebay.com/itm/High-Pressure-Shock-Tool-for-Setting-Gas-Pressure-on-shocks-/171331011433?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item27e41fc369&vxp=mtr

Also need a tank of nitrogen and regulator. Total probably $400 more to run gas shocks after you have bought them

Sorry guys I wasn't clear in my original post .. I did get the pressure settings from Integra but I didn't know what kind of tank / hose / regulator I need to do it.

The LF shock I bought (used) is the one that isn't extending under pressure like the rest .. does that mean it has 0 PSI gas in it ?

The two rear's are extending pretty snappy on the bench, and the RF is a bit slower, and the LF isn't extending at all.

The LRF is popping out very quickly, and I'm assuming it's got 150 PSI in it .. that's what I'm looking at on these .. can you gauge the PSI of gas in the shock by how quickly the shaft extends unloaded?

dont guess your gas based on how slow or fast the shock pushes out. that has to do with valving . your gas might be fine . if you dont have a tank and regulator to fill them dont even think about putting that gauge on. you will loose a significant amount of gas and alter the shock just by attaching the guage. you need to know what your filling them to when you attach your guage . its not like checking a tire there is very little volume in a shock.

also double check , base valve or non. base valve shocks can run much lower pressures than the non base valve and there are different setting for them as well. your shock builder can help you with those settings

Its likely that the LF has leaked off, or that the shaft may be slightly tweaked. Put the body in a vice and rotate the shaft you should be able to see if its slightly tweaked. I would check gas pressure weekly to make sure they are where you think they are.

I was going to start a new thread with a question, but ill ask it here, with the soft right front , (ie bump stops or two stage spring ) setups that are getting so popular nowadays, who would be the best custom shock builder or re valve specialist to use?

I appreciate the red dot huck, the way I see it your the biggest clown on here, my post was the truth, you need to give it up in the tech section and go away,

Call your local welding supply place to get hooked up with a nitrogen tank and a regulator. You should be out the door for about $250. One time purchase. You don't need a big tank...they come with loads of PSI in them and will last a long time for the small volumes you're filling in shocks.Refilling the tank is only about $12.
As for the filler tool, just be sure to get one with a gauge that will go high enough for your needs. There's no magic to the Integra brand versus any other shock filler tool. A Schrader valve is a Schrader valve. Ohlins are the only ones that require some special tools.

Thanks Matt, that's what I'm looking at. I found the integra guage on eBay for $44.00. I'll stop by local welding place today and see what they have. Also found a local buddy that can charge these things up to Integra numbers so I can check them out.

Turns out the aluminum schraeder valve thing on the top got bent slightly and that's how the gas got out. Probably damaged in shipping. Easy fix !

but you'll feel a difference on the track immediately. The ability to pay attention to fine detail is the difference between a good team and a lazy team. Hope everything goes well for you! Most of those schraeder valves should have an 0 ring on the inside on the integras.

Glad you found your problem. I have had the valve cores leak on the schrader valves too, just another thing to make a quick check on.
