Armed Forces Night at Ponderosa Speedway on Friday May 30

Junction City, KY-May 25, 2014- Ponderosa Speedway track promoter Jerry Denson and staff will return to action with a special night on Friday May 30 as it will be Armed Forces Night at the 3/8 mile D-shaped red clay oval better known as “Kentucky’s Baddest Bullring”, with a full program of racing competition scheduled in all divisions.

It will be Armed Forces Night at the track on Friday May 30. All active and inactive military personnel are eligible for FREE general admission to the racing program on Friday May 30 as long as they present their military identification at the general admission entrance.

The Friday May 30 racing program will feature a full program of racing competition in all divisions, with Super Late Models racing 25 laps for $1,000 to win in their main, along with Modifieds racing for $700 to win in their 20 lap feature contest. Also on the Friday May 30 racing schedule will be Pro Late Models racing in a 20 lap feature contest for $600 to win (12 or more entries; $400 to win 11 or less entries), Sportsman racing for $300 to win in a 15 lap feature event, along with Pure Street ($200 to win) and Four Cylinders ($100 to win). RACEceivers are mandatory for all divisions and can be rented at the track at driver registration, with all drivers needing to be signed at the time of the drivers meeting, which begins at 7:00 p.m.

Ponderosa Speedway Armed Forces Night A-Main Event Payouts for Friday May 30:
Super Late Models (25 laps): 1st- $1,000, 2nd- $500, 3rd- $400, 4th- $375, 5th- $350, 6th- $300, 7th- $250, 8th- $200, 9th- $175, 10th- $150, 11th through 18th- $125 to start.
Pro Late Models (20 laps): (12 or more cars)- 1st- $600, 2nd- $300, 3rd- $250, 4th- $200, 5th- $150, 6th- $125, 7th through 18th- $100 to start; (11 or less entries)- 1st- $400, 2nd- $250, 3rd- $150, 4th- $125, 5th through 11th- $100 to start.
Modifieds (20 laps): 1st- $700, 2nd- $350, 3rd- $250, 4th- $225, 5th- $200, 6th- $175, 7th- $150, 8th- $130, 9th- $120, 10th- $110, 11th through 18th- $100 to start.
Sportsman (15 laps): 1st- $300, 2nd- $200, 3rd- $150, 4th- $125, 5th- $100, 6th- $90, 7th- $80, 8th- $70, 9th- $60, 10th- $55, 11th through 18th- $50 to start.
Pure Street (12 laps): 1st- $200, 2nd- $100, 3rd- $90, 4th- $80, 5th- $70, 6th- $65, 7th- $60, 8th- $55, 9th- $50, 10th- $40, 11th through 18th- $30 to start.
Four Cylinders (10 laps)- 1st- $100 (remainder of the payout based on car count)

Activities for the Friday May 30 racing event will see the general admission area and pit area open at 4:00 p.m. The drivers meeting will take place at 7:00 p.m., with practice laps set to begin at 7:20 p.m. Time trials will get underway at 7:45 p.m., with racing set to take the green flag at 8:30 p.m. Ticket prices on Friday May 30 in the general admission area will be $15 for adults (FREE to all active military and inactive military personnel with military ID), with children ages 12 and under admitted FREE with a paid adult, while a pit pass will be $30.

Ponderosa Speedway last raced on Friday May 23 and feature event winners that evening included Justin Rattliff of Campbellsville, KY in Super Late Models, Todd Coffman of Junction City, KY in Pro Late Models, Michael England of Glasgow, KY in Modifieds, and Glen Hounshell, Jr. of Mount Vernon, KY in Sportsman.

Track championship point leader heading into the Friday May 30 event are Timmy Taylor of Harrodsburg, KY in Super Late Models, Todd Coffman of Junction City, KY in Pro Late Models, Michael England of Glasgow, KY in Modifieds, Glen Hounshell, Jr. of Mount Vernon, KY in Sportsman, and Clay Reece of Irvine, KY in Pure Street.

Ponderosa Speedway is located at 365 Phillips Lane on the Boyle/Lincoln County border, outside of Junction City, KY, just minutes from Danville, KY.
