Conley’s Claim Trio of Top Fives in Hall of Fame Race at Atomic Speedway

(WHEELERSBURG, OHIO) Delmas, Rod, R.J., and J.T. Conley all made the trek north to Atomic Speedway near Chillicothe, Ohio on Saturday evening, May 24 for a special Hall of Fame Night. The unsanctioned program drew a solid field of cars who were all gunning for the $2,500 winner's check. Delmas, the patriarch of the Conley clan, won his heat race in preliminary action and then led a majority of the 30-lap feature event. After swapping the top spot with Duane Chamberlain on multiple occasions, the Dirt Late Model Hall of Famer retired on lap 25 with battery problems and was relegated to a disappointing fourteenth place effort.

The other three Conley Motorsports, Inc. drivers found themselves inside of the top five at the end of the night. R.J. ran a disappointing fifth in his heat race, but later passed eleven competitors during the A-Main en route to an impressive runner-up performance behind only winner Chamberlain. Rod finished third in heat race action prior to crossing underneath the checkers in the fourth spot following thirty green flag laps in the feature. Third generation driver J.T. Conley also nabbed a top five, as he was paid for fifth at the pay window following the race. Complete results from Atomic Speedway can be viewed online at www.atomicspeedway.net.

The Conley’s plan to head in different directions this Saturday night, May 31, as they will have a presence at both the nearby Portsmouth Raceway Park in Portsmouth, Ohio and the venerable Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky. Delmas and J.T. Conley plan to make the short drive to PRP for the track’s season-opening event, as a $2,000 payday will be on the line. Rod and R.J. Conley are slated to venture to Florence for the 28th Annual ‘Ralph Latham Memorial,’ which will be sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and will boast a $10,000 top prize. R.J. was the 2001 victor of the ‘Ralph Latham Memorial’ and will be looking for his second race title this weekend.
