CARTERSVILLE, GA – As drivers close in on the halfway point of the 27-week 2014 NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series season, there are 12 races in seven different states on the Week 11 schedule of events. Adam Gauldin of Talladega, AL continues to lead the standings with a nine point advantage over Daniel Bridgmon of Meridian, MS.

There are three NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Week 11 Friday night races on the schedule at Batesville Motor Speedway in Batesville, AR, Hattiesburg Speedway in Hattiesburg, MS and Salina Speedway in Salina, KS.

The Saturday night NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Week 11 schedule will be highlighted by a $1,000-to-win race at Battleground Speedway in Highland, TX. There will be an $800-to-win race at Flomaton Speedway in Flomaton, AL that will be co-sanctioned by the South Eastern Crate Series, and there will also be a pair of tracks running Double Feature races.

Both Greenville Speedway in Greenville, MS and Jackson Motor Speedway in Jackson, MS will present Double Feature races for the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Late Model Division. One race will be a Week 10 Make-Up feature, and the second race will be the regularly scheduled Week 11 race.

Also hosting Saturday night NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Week 11 events will be Arkadelphia Speedway in Bremen, AL, Clayhill Motorsports in Atwood, TN, St. Tammany Raceway in Lacombe, LA, Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL, and Whynot Motorsports Park in Meridian, MS.

Gauldin leads the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 433 points in nine weeks of competition and has the second highest Weekly Point Average among the Top 20 drivers in the standings at 48.11 out of a possible 50. Bridgmon is second with 424 points and has the seventh highest WPA at 47.11.

Shannon Lee of Lumberton, MS is third in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 402 points over nine weeks, and Ronnie Cooper of McKenzie, TN is fourth with 396 points over nine weeks. Cruz Skinner of Oxford, AL is fifth in the standings with 393 points over nine weeks, and Doug Sanchagrin of Florence, MS is sixth with 386 points over nine weeks.

The defending NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series National Champion Noah Daspit of Kiln, MS is seventh in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 383 points over eight weeks of racing, and has the fourth highest WPA at 47.87. Mike Combs of Odenville, AL is eighth with 369 points and has the tenth highest WPA at 46.12. Bronson Berry of Huntingdon, TN is ninth with 351 points over eight weeks.

Chris Holley of Dayton, TX is tenth in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 349 points over seven weeks of racing. Holley has the highest WPA among the Top 20 drivers in the standings at 49.86 after six wins and one second-place finish in his seven races this season.

There are five drivers in the second ten of the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series point standings that are in the Top 10 of the WPA list. These five drivers are ones to watch in the coming weeks, as they climb the Top 20 of the point standings.

Adam Beeler of Knoxville, TN is 13th in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 336 points over seven weeks, but has the third highest WPA at 48. Heath Minor of Tuscaloosa, AL is 15th in the standings with 335 points over seven weeks, but has the fifth highest WPA at 47.86.

Chris Jewell of Alvin, TX is 16th in the standings with 331 points over seven weeks, but has the sixth highest WPA at 47.28. Ryan King of Seymour, TN is 17th in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 329 points over seven weeks, but has the eighth highest WPA at 47. Caleb Coan of Moulton, AL is 18th in the standings, and has the ninth highest WPA at 46.57.

Drivers participating at NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series sanctioned tracks compete against each other through a points system that counts their 14 best weekly point totals over the 27-week season that runs through September 28.

The 2014 NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series National Champion will earn $10,000 and the Top 10 drivers in the final National point standings will also receive cash awards from the point fund. Drivers will also compete for an additional point fund at each series sanctioned track.

The dirt late model race cars in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series are powered by the economical Chevrolet Performance Circle Track Engines that are built and sealed at the factory to prevent any expensive modifications.
