CARTERSVILLE, GA – Week 12 of the 2014 NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series season will see ten races at nine tracks in six different states. There will be a pair of $1,000-to-win races on the Week 12 schedule of events.

Friday night NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Week 12 races are scheduled for Hattiesburg Speedway in Hattiesburg, MS, Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS, and Salina Speedway in Salina, KS.

On Saturday night, Week 12 NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series events will be highlighted by a $1,000-to-win race at 411 Motor Speedway in Seymour, TN, and a $1,000-to-win race at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS. The Friday night and Saturday night races at Magnolia Motor Speedway will also have a $250 winner-take-all Non-Qualifiers Race each night.

Other Saturday night NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Weeks 12 races are scheduled for Arkadelphia Speedway in Bremen, AL, Poplar Bluff Speedway in Poplar Bluff, MO, St. Tammany Raceway in Lacombe, LA, and Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL. Salina Speedway will make up their Week 9 rainout this Saturday night at RPM Speedway in Hays, KS

Adam Gauldin of Talladega, AL continues to lead the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 522 points after 11 weeks, and has the third highest WPA at 47.45. Daniel Bridgmon of Meridian, MS and Doug Sanchagrin of Florence, MS are tied for the second spot in the standings with 474 points apiece.

Bridgmon reached his total in ten weeks of racing, and has the fourth highest WPA at 47.4. Sanchagrin took 11 weeks to hit his point total. Shannon Lee of Lumberton, MS is fourth in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 450 points in ten weeks for the seventh highest WPA at 45.

Cruz Skinner of Oxford, AL has become at the age of 12 a NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series title contender. Skinner is fifth in the standings with 443 points over ten weeks of competition and the ninth highest WPA at 44.3. Mike Combs of Odenville, AL is sixth in the standings with 410 points over nine weeks of racing and the sixth highest WPA at 45.56.

Chris Holley of Dayton, TX is seventh in the standings with 399 points over eight weeks of racing, and has the highest WPA among the Top 20 drivers in the point standings at 49.67 out of a possible 50. Michael Arnold of Hattiesburg, MS is eighth in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 398 points over nine weeks of racing and the tenth highest WPA at 44.22.

Ronnie Cooper of McKenzie, TN is ninth in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 396 points over nine weeks of competition, and Cliff Williams of Star, MS rounds out the top ten in the standings with 389 points over nine weeks of racing.

There are three drivers outside the top ten in the point standings that are among the top ten drivers on the WPA list. The defending NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series National Champion Noah Daspit of Kiln, MS is 12th in the standings with 383 points earned over eight weeks of racing, but has the second highest WPA at 47.87.

Buster Deen of Crosby, TX is 16th in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series standings with 365 points over eight weeks of competition, and has the fifth highest WPA at 45.62. Henry Pullen of Pittsboro, MS is 17th in the standings with 357 points, and has the eighth highest WPA at 44.62.

Drivers participating at NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series sanctioned tracks compete against each other through a points system that counts their 14 best weekly point totals over the 27-week season that runs through September 28.

The 2014 NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series National Champion will earn $10,000 and the Top 10 drivers in the final National point standings will also receive cash awards from the point fund. Drivers will also compete for an additional point fund at each series sanctioned track.

The dirt late model race cars in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series are powered by the economical Chevrolet Performance Circle Track Engines that are built and sealed at the factory to prevent any expensive modifications. There are two engines to choose from, the 400 horsepower aluminum-head 604 engine and the 350 horsepower steel-head 602 engine that gets a 100-pound weight break.
