The heat was on both for the fans in the stands and the racers on the track. It was in the upper 90's at race time and the points races are starting for the last half of the season with some new faces popping up in the winners circle.
Don Marrs won for the first time this year in the Grand National class with a convincing win as he ran around the top of the track holding off Gary Donaldson and Austin Johnson.
Gene Steagall won his first ever feature race at Lakeside Friday night in the Stock Car feature as the veteran racer acquired the lead after Brett Heeters motor broke taking Heeter and Joe Smith JR. out of 1st and 2nd giving the lead to Steagall. He then held off Marshall Jewett for the win.
Tim Powell won the B-Mod a-main as he continued his winning run of every other weeks races with Chad Clancy. Tim Fought hard with Yancy Shephard throughout the race for the front spot but opened up a small margin in the closing part of the race.
Kerry Davis showed that he was not a one week wonder as he wins back to back features for two weeks in a row. Trevor Hunt led for 8 or 9 laps but gave up the lead as his car started to go away in the close laps, Kerry davis stayed with his race line around the bottom half of the track and took his second win of the year on a dry slick track.
