To plumb this as a right front shut off does the input and output both have to be on the lower half of the valve ?

Never mind I figured it out. Just hook the caliper to the input line and the pressure line to any of the other 3 outlets. And as a side note it doesn't work correctly unless it's the system is completely bled .

Yup has to be installed backwards.
