How will a 375 RF work on a smackdown?

It can work fine or not at all. Depends on the rest of the car. Not that unusual of a spring for an S7 setup.

We found that a 375 was a good all around RF spring on the Smackdown we ran for the last 2 1/2 years. I would not be afraid at all to work with it as long as you spend some time to make sure the rest of the car is set up right. Only thing I noticed is the car was very picky on J bar settings, at least more so than other cars I have worked with.

Where did the jbar work the best?

Even if he gives you an answer, it won't necessarily apply to you unless you have the same VCG.

We ran the car with a 385 steel block 18 degree Brodix head motor with an ATL 26 gallon cell and a all aluminum 430 12 degree motor and a MB wedge cell. With either set up the car responded and seemed to need relatively small j bar adjustments.

Thanks. What's a good left front spring?

Here is a GRT sheet that I think will help you. I have used it for years and it works well in getting a better understanding on what changes do to the handling of your car. Start with spring adjustments first.

Keith Masters says the only three LF springs you need are 475/500/525 (I start with a 500# in my car). For RF he said the only two set-ups you need are a 350# or a stack (I've never tried a stack set-up). I have been running the longer J-bar (right at 21 7/8" long), and have it 8 3/4" up on the frame and even with the pinion. The car is good when there is traction but needs work when slick. I've tried raising it on the frame (up to 9"), but didn't get the necessary gain in sidebite. This past week I tried lowering it on the pinion (about 1/2"), but only got one lap in before my night was done. I should also point out that MB calls for a 12" RF spring, but I admit I'm still using the 10" (because that's what I had).

your looking for the perfect setup, ill help ya,there is no perfect setup, youll have to work and find what works for you,and you may not believe me here, but im not trying to be a wise guy, take all the stuff you want to try and rent a track and try it,it will save you a ton in the long run(wrecked cars and also knowing how the car will act with different setups)and im speaking from experience, even when you win your looking how to get the car better,if you dont thats when you get beat

You're right grt74. I used to always think practices were a waste of time, but with as few laps as you race under certain circumstances, a practice night (say on a slick track) could be extremely beneficial. They just don't have too many around me.
