Have 2010 Mastersbilt and need to know how you guys are mounting the left rear limiter chain.

Had older Mastersbilt before and could put a bracket above the rear end but battery box is in the way on the 2010.

Does chain need to be straight up and down or does it matter as long as the drop is correct?

thanks for the help

No it is a Smack Car

My 2010 Smack had the limiter chain mount behind the battery box and on the outside of the frame rail. The mount was angled so that it pointed at the center line of the axle when the LR was at full droop. That's the way it was done at Masters when new. Worked fine, no problems.

Don't see a chain mount on this one. Called the #'s into MB and was told it is a 2010. Do you know if this mount comes standard and what year that started?

Any recommendations since it doesn't have the mount? Would it be ok to Weld a mount to the tubing?

My 2008 doesn't have it either but from what I've seen of them it looks like a short piece of 3/4" steering shaft...maybe 3" long. You could bevel the outside some to match up with the frame rail. That should give you a good surface to weld. A 1/2 bolt should fit well inside then. You can weld chain to the end of that so the length is then adjustable. Check the clearance with your LR brake hose, spring, etc.

I cut a section out of the battery box for the mount on a 2010 Smack.
