New Richmond, WI (August 11, 2014): The FANSFund wrapped up a very successful 2014 event the weekend of July 31st through August 2nd. Nine of drivers that were voted in were able to make it to this year’s event and they competed in our first ever FANSFund Dash on Friday night August 1st, for their share of the $16,900 fund. Fourth starting Doug Drown of Wooster, OH took home the $2,500 winner’s share of the FANSFund Dash in an exciting move as he split the front 2 cars down the backstretch on the first lap of the 12 lap race. He was followed to the finish line by: Fifth starting Wendell Wallace, who pressured Drown for much of the race; Jason Feger who charged from the 7th starting position; Bobby Pierce from 9th, John Blankenship, Travis D_ickes, Jonathan Davenport, Ryan Unzicker and Garrett Alberson who battled up front most of the race but unfortunately succumbed to an ignition failure on the last lap. The addition of the dash was certainly an exciting new race for the FANS and one of the highlights of the night as these racers put on one heck of a show in the $2,500 to win, $1,550 to start dash where the top 3 drivers took home at least $2,000! Thank you to the drivers that made the long tow and participated in this year’s event!
The FANSFund Luncheon that was held Saturday August 2nd at 11:30 AM was a big hit as usual. Sponsors and Fans that attended received a personal meet and greet with the drivers they voted in, a nice lunch, a FANSFund t-shirt, driver photo collage, and were eligible for other numerous door prizes as well as free attendance to the indoor arena race that afternoon. During the luncheon the drivers that participated in this year’s event were brought up one by one to receive their share of the fund and say a few words. All drivers were extremely thankful for the support of all the Fans and Sponsors and what we as a FANSFund team do to help support them.
