Swindell moves fast. When Venturini Motorsports needed a driver to replace injured John Wes Townley, they reached out to Swindell, whose last name tells you he’s a dirt-track ace.“Billy sent me a text Wednesday,’ Swindell said.Swindell started eighth but quickly moved his way toward the front. He battled in the top four most of the race. ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards points leader Mason Mitchell finished second with Grant Entfinger third. Ten-time series champ Frank Kimmel placed fourth with his son, Will, coming in fifth. The race became a battle between dirt trackers converging on the Springfield Mile and the pavement stars from ARCA, who were making their first trip to a dirt track this season. ARCA runs the miles at Springfield and DuQuoin in a 20-race schedule.Swindell drove eight races for Venturini Motorsports in 2012, when he scored his first ARCA victory at Chicagoland Speedway.
