Need some suggestions on what to change to help the center of corner. It's more of a problem when the track is slick but have noticed it when the track has some bite. Tracks I run have fairly sweeping corners, and I am on the gas or just enough to get the car on the bars when it's slick. At the apex of the turn the back end wants to swing around and then it kills my exit. I was down to 1/2" of rear stagger and it was still a problem. Car is an IMCA mod chevelle stub, 4/4 with LR brake floater. Front springs 550 and rear springs 200. Been down to 175# on rr but feel like it's to soft for the slick and not wanting to plant the RR. Thinking about a J-bar change, setup calls for 5" split and that's where we have been running it. Ususally run around 35-40lbs of bite, anymore than that and it gets to tight on entry.

How much rr trail?

The rear end was basically centered. Had about a 1/16" of lead in the LR. Before the heat race I shortened the RH bars two turns. Has 2" of stagger in heat, was pretty dry then too. Haven't measured the rear end yet, so don't know how much I ended up with. For feature I dropped both right side bars down a hole. Changed tires around and ended up with 1/2". Basically I wanted the car super tight to try it, got it with brake bias to be pretty neutral getting into the corner with some trail braking. Really trying to fine tune it, been working on entry most of the year.

On a slick track I bump my right rear up to 200 or even 225 if its fast and rough. Run left rear 50 pounds heavier than right rear. What are your percentages? Could bump up rear weight or add bite.

What length spring on lr and have you tried a lighter spring like about a 175 on lr? Best of luck.

Confused?

If you are looking for something simple, I would raise the j-bar on the chassis about a half inch. That should help to stick the RR a little more. Leave I where it is on the pinion.

Rear is around 56% full of fuel. I'm already 100# over weight limit with a 20# hanging on RR, afraid to bolt a bunch of lead on the rear to get to 58%. Left 52.4% w/o driver. Cross in the 49% range depending on bite. LR spring is a 16", haven't tried 175# yet. 200# is the lightest I've been on LR. Gonna try J-bar for starters and see if that helps. Not looking for a big adjustment. My year of car is notorious for only needing small adjustments.

How did the changes work out for you?

Got rained out this last week. Try again Saturday night.
