Bub McCool Masters North Alabama for $3k Payday; World 100 Next

Vicksburg, MS (08/26/14) – Bub McCool continued his hot hand as of late with a $3,000 victory in his #57J McCool Logging/ Victory Circle/Jay D ickens Racing Engine Super Late Model on Friday night at North Alabama Speedway.

Bub McCool rolled into North Alabama Speedway (Tuscumbia, AL) on Friday evening for a $3,000-to-win, Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series (MSCCS) event. In the first MSCCS event at the 1/3 mile oval since 2008, McCool set fast time among the twenty-three entrants to earn a front row starting spot in the dash. He later won the dash, positioning him starting on the pole for the 50 lap feature with David Breazeale alongside.

In the main event, McCool drove his entry to his third series victory of the season. He took the checkered flag first ahead of runner up, Chris Wall, Josh Putnam, Eric Cooley, and Kyle Beard.
Columbus Speedway (Columbus, Mississippi) welcomed the invasion of the Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series (MSCCS) tour on Saturday night. With twenty-four Super Late Models in the pits for the $3,000-to-win program, Bub started his night by qualifying second fastest in his group, which resulted in him starting fourth in the dash. A second place finish in the dash earned McCool the outside-front-row starting spot alongside David Breazeale for the finale.

Unfortunately, McCool was the first retiree from the 50 lapper after experiencing driveline issues early in the race. He was credited with a 22nd place finish in the final rundown.

"We had bad luck in the feature on Saturday night at Columbus, but we still had a great car all weekend," said McCool. "We've really turned a corner with this car, and I feel like a contender every time we unload now."

Full results from the weekend are available at www.StateSeries.com .

Bub will not race anywhere this weekend as he prepares to compete in the 44th Annual World 100 at Eldora Speedway (Rossburg, Ohio) on September 4th-6th. For more information on the mega event please visit www.EldoraSpeedway.com .
