Looking into the rear of the car from the left rear at the j bar. Should the j bar be parallel with the rear end or at an angle running from the front of the car (frame) towards the back of the car. (Pinion side)

Depends on chassis builder. I've seen it both ways. Be sure your trailing arm lengths are correct.

Confused?

I prefer to have the frame side about 2" forward of the pinion. As the rearend moves, it will pull forward some. Having the frame mount ahead of the pinion helps kelp the j-bar from hitting the pinion plate and binding up or bending stuff.

Thank you for the info. Doing a redesign on the rear portion of my chassis and wanted to make sure that was in the right spot. Just doing from the 4 bar mounts back.

Another question, RR shock, what degree angle should that be mounted at? I'm thinking it should be tilted in at the top on the chassis but how much in? and what about forward and back or straight up and down? The RR is where most of my problem lies and where the redesign will mainly occur. Thanks again.

In about 15* and forward about 5*

Thanks Confused, you rock. I was thinking along them lines but to have degree numbers to get started really helps. Makes sense do to chassis roll and rear end movement. Thanks again.

You're welcome. Good luck

You should think about adding a second mount, on the inside, on the RR. A lot of late model guys use the inside mount when the track slicks off.

D244 the inner mount don't work as tire rubs shock and is super tight at frame. So no matter what it's getting moved in. Tracks in the northeast are only dry slick so that's fine.

Should coil over eliminator be mounted at the same degres in and fwd as the shock?

I usually run mine 5 1/2" from bottom of frame on the chassis side and usually 1/2"-3/4" above centerline of the yolk on the pinion side. Hope this helps
