Sweetwater, TN – The I-75 Motor Speedway opens a new chapter on it’s storied history this Saturday September 13th. Many folks may know the facility as the old “Murphy Speedway” which has seen several owners in his history. However, after lack of interest, the facility was closed and has been closed the past several years. But 2014 saw the beginning of the new chapter, as Tim and Angie Kyle, along with Monty Morrow, are set to open up the racing season in grand fashion this Saturday. On Monday September 1st, more than 600 people and 73 cars showed up for the first practice of the season on the new configuration of the race track. On Sunday September 7th, another practice was held where several hundred people spectated and over 40 cars made laps. Now, this Saturday night the facility welcomes everyone for the first race of the season.

On Saturday, all gates will open at 5:00p ET with the drivers meeting slated for 7:00p ET. Adult
Grandstand admission will be $10, kids 6-12 $5, and kids 5 & under free. Adult Tier Parking will be $15, kids 6-12 $10, and kids 5 & under free. Adult Pit Passes will be $25, kids 6-12 $15 and kids 5 & under free (all minors must have parent complete and sign a minor release). For those interested in the VIP seats in the tower, they’re $25 for adults, kids 6-12 $15, and kids 5 & under free.

Classes in action will be Steel Head Late Model, Crate Late Model, A-Hobby/Sportsman, B-Hobby, Thunder, and Pony Stock. For complete rules, please check out the I-75 Motor Speedway website at http://i75motorspeedway.com. For complete purses, check the end of this press release.

In the event of inclement weather, your most trusted source will be the I-75 Motor Speedway Facebook Page (http://facebook.com/I75motorspeedway). Our website is currently having issues which we hope will be resolved in the very near future, however the rules listed on there are accurate.
