Ray Cook Rallies to Seventh at Smoky Mountain; Alabama State Championship Ahead

(BRASSTOWN, NORTH CAROLINA) Ray Cook Racing stormed into Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tennessee on Saturday evening, September 20 for the 'King of the Mountain Fall Classic.' Ray Cook was unable to lock himself directly into the $5,000 to win feature event through Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series (SAS) qualifying, but he did grab the second transfer spot through his consolation race. After starting the 40-lap headliner from the outside of the sixth row, Ray was able to move past five competitors during the caution-free affair to land in the seventh finishing position. Complete results from Smoky Mountain Speedway can be obtained online at www.sasdirt.com.

The #53 team will now turn their attention to the 36th Annual ‘Alabama State Championship’ this upcoming weekend (September 27-28) at East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, Alabama. Ray is scheduled to enter both $4,000 to win Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series (SAS) shows on Saturday and Sunday, along with the Crate Late Model portion of the weekend. Preliminary action for the Crates will take place on Saturday, while the $5,000 to win feature is slated for Sunday at EAMS.
