CARTERSVILLE, GA – The 2014 NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division Presented By AR Bodies season comes to an end this Saturday night with four races on the Week 27 schedule. Saturday night races are scheduled for Hattiesburg Speedway in Hattiesburg, MS, Southern Raceway in Milton, FL, St. Tammany Raceway in Lacombe, LA, and Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL.
Jeremy Idom of Hattiesburg, MS has clinched the 2014 NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division National Championship, but ten other drivers will have one race to find their respective places in the Top 10 points fun-paying positions of the point standings.
Idom has a best 14 week total of 698 points and will be trying to net on a 49 in Week 27 competition. That means Idom needs his 15th 50-point win of the season to bring his season total to 699 points, one point short of a 700-point perfect season.
Larry Faulk of Pace, FL is second in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with a best 14 week total of 686 points, and can net on a 46 in the final week of the season. If Faulk can take his seventh 50-point win of the season on Saturday night, he can bring his season total up to 690 points.
The 2013 NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division National Champion Trey Bright of Coker, AL is third in the standings with a best 14 week total of 683 points. Bright can net on a 46, and if he can turn in his eighth 50-point win of the season on Saturday night, he will bring his season total to 687 points.
Kevin Whittington of Brandon, MS is fourth in the standings with a best 14 week total of 678 points. Whittington can net on a 45, and if he can capture his seventh 50-point win on Saturday night, he can gain five points and bring his season total to 683 points. David Windham of Florala, AL is fifth in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with a best 14 week total of 676 points. Windham can net on a 46 with a possible total of 680 points.
Branden Harris of Molino, FL will be looking for his fourth win of the season on Saturday night to net on a 43. Harris is sixth in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with a best 14 week total of 671 points, and a win could bring his season total to 678 points. Doug Lea of Milton, FL is seventh with a best 14 week total of 663 points, and will be looking to net on a 44.
Brandon Leftwich of Meridian, MS is eighth in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with a best 14 week total of 657 points and will be looking to net on a 41 in the final week of the season. Dean Shaw of Defuniak Springs, FL is ninth with a best 14 week total of 655 points and will be looking to net on a 43.
Jay Geddie of Ellisville, MS rounds out the top ten in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with a best 14 week total of 651 points and will be looking to net on a 41. Calvin Cook of Pace, FL is 16th in the standings with 611 points, but he can still earn full points in the final week of the season. A 50-point win would bring Cook’s season total to 661 points.
The Top 10 drivers in the final NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division point standings will earn a coveted invitation to the NeSmith Racing Annual Awards Banquet to pick up a point fund check in January at the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame in Dawsonville, GA.
Since NeSmith Racing officials will be on the road this weekend working a Chevrolet Performance Super Late Model Series event, the points will not be tabulated until late Sunday evening, and posted Monday morning.
