Southern Nationals Bonus Series Set for $10,000 Weekend at Ponderosa Speedway October 10, 11

Somerset, KY-October 5, 2014- The Southern Nationals Bonus Series continues a busy month of October as the tour will roll into Ponderosa Speedway in Junction City, KY as the Ray Cook promoted tour will sanction the track’s 7th Annual Friday Night Rumble on Friday October 10 ($2,500 to win) and the 24th Annual Fall Classic Saving the Ta Ta’s 60 on Saturday October 11 ($7,500 to win).
The 7th Annual Friday Night Rumble will take place on Friday October 10 and will feature the Southern Nationals Bonus Series in action in a full program of practice, A-B group time trials, dash (top 2 qualifiers from each group will be in a dash that will set the first two rows of the A-Main), heats, B-Mains, and the 35 lap, $2,500 to win/$250 to start 7th Annual Friday Night Rumble. The track’s Modified ($1,500 to win), Pro Late Model ($1,000 to win), and KDRA Sportsman ($1,000 to win) divisions will also be in action that evening.
The 24th Annual Fall Classic Saving the Ta Ta’s 60 will take place the following evening on Saturday October 11 and will feature the Southern Nationals Bonus Series in action in a full program of practice, A-B group time trials, dash (top 2 qualifiers from each group will be in a dash that will set the first two rows of the A-Main), heats, B-Mains, and the 60 lap, $7,500 to win/$400 to start 24th Annual Fall Classic Saving the Ta Ta’s 60. The track’s Modified ($3,000 to win), Pro Late Model ($1,500 to win), and KDRA Sportsman ($1,500 to win) divisions will also be in action that evening as well.
The tire rule for the event will be as follows: Hoosier LM20, 1300, 1350, LM40, and 1600; American Racer 44, 48, and 56. These will be the only tires allowed on all four corners of the race cars and tires will be checked and tire samples will be taken and sent to the lab to insure tires meet the proper compound benchmarks. The entry fee for Friday October 10 is $50 and the entry fee for Saturday October 11 is $80. Transponders will be used for timing and scoring at both events and the rental fee each night is $20 ($10 if a driver has their own transponder).
