What is that advantage and disadvantage of each steering wheel in a late mode? I am sure it is a lot of driver preference. I just noticed at the last big event I attended that both were being used. I have driven modifieds but bought a late model. Just interested in the thoughts.

It depends mostly on the driver and if he has a 32 inch waist or a 42 inch one.

I've always prefered a 15" wheel. When I was younger it was mainly because of the somewhat "quicker" feel. I drove a car once with a 17" wheeel and it felt like steering a tractor. Not that I am much older, I have to shamefully admit that my belly (technically my harness buckle) has rubbed the covering off the wheel, so there is no way I could use a 17".

17 if you want to be a dump truck driver or 15 if you want to race car driver lol.. I have seen races won both wheels have seen some drivers switch wheels during race had crew come out on track under caution and swap...

What made the driver want a 13in wheel?

I use a 13 on the small tracks around my area for the simple reason I don't want to move my hands around as much.

Well my driver is 6'9" 400 and needed the room so we tried the 13 in wheel and he liked it. He always liked quick steering and it gives him a little of that also.
