Getting back into racing. thoughts? MN, ND, SD

I have been out of racing for about 10 years now and its time to get back into things. Looking at running in MN, ND, SD, and possibly other areas in the midwest. I am wanting to get a mod and with all the changes in the last 10 years am asking your opinion on chassis as well as going with a 604 crate or open motor. Mostly going to be running IMCA. Thank you in advance for your opinions.

Thank you scd. I thought the crate should be fine in features I was sure if it would be enough power in the heats. I am considering a chassis that is fairly new and was thinking of the top brands, Harris, victory, shaw, etc. I have seen on here u have a GRT, I had bad luck with there LM's and am not crazy to go back to one. Nothing against them some guys are very fast in GRT's the LM just didn't fit me. I have watched a few lg2 cars and really like the attitude of those cars but think they are out of my budget to get started again. Thank u again for your opinion.
