I have acquired a dirt mod. recently and it appears to be an older car (has M & M welded on the frame rail) I believe it to be 73-77 A-body (it has flat frame rails but measures 3/4 wider than 68-72 chevelle) It has pinto spindles on it. Is this a "good" thing or is there something better out there? Also, what about the pitman arm, drag link and idle arm? what's the best?? Any info will be appreciated.

it should have a ford crown vic with pinto spindles M-M stands for metals an more if I recall. they are now mach 1 .give them, a call with the chassis number handy. they were fast cars but the guy's were a$$ holes in my opinion.

They have built cars with GM clips… saw one on-line with a metric deal so it's possible. Good contact info btw….

I contacted Mach 1 Racecars... As it turns out..I do not have one of their cars. He said he hasnt built a Modified in 5-6 years and he only used Ford clips. I did ask a few tech questions but didnt want to take up all his time with a car that wasnt his. So just curious again.... Anyone have/know a good front end geometry set-up for 73-77 chevelle clip? Are there interchangable lowers? Is it considered a "big" metric car? It has a big metric drag link on it and the pitman and idle arm, I believe, are 5 3/4 center to center. Is thi sdesirable or are there better options? Appreciate any and all feedback!! Thanks

my mod has a 74 chevelle stub I put pinto spindles on it you'll need to get a bump steer gage to get it right I got adjustable upper ball joints to help with that I used a stock drag link.

I think the big metric stub is the 80 - 90 Impala - caprice . I may be wrong.

Big metric is 77-90 Impala. The Chevelle is NOT a metric car. Spindles and lower control arms will interchange with 2nd gen Camaro.

The Pinto spindle is what most guys use.
