I have a red Chevy regular cab, short (not step side) bed s10 with a 2.2L 5 speed. Truck is in great shape for being 13 years old. Couple dings and dents, but no rust what so ever. Truck has been stored in winters. The rear end shifts around when driving. It broke and I drove it home and it has been in winter storage since. I have over $4500 invested minus initial cost of truck.
