Does anyone have a rough estimated range of gforces in a modified? How much do they change as the track dries off and slows down? And how big of a difference can you expect to see between places with long straightaways, tight corners, sweeping corners, etc....

I have found that the range can be anywhere between .60-1.0+ (1.0+ is rare) Gs all depending the circumstances at that time. As for range in difference, it can vary dramatically.

Back in the 90s I used a G-analyst by Valentine Research from Cinncinatti OH. If I remember correctly it would record a 7 minute window of data at .1 second intervals.

We found that 1 g back then was about max and it only reached that on braking/deceleration and then it would transition to lateral gs in the turn and still have a max of 1 g. Acceleration and the straight was MUCH lower but I do not remember how much.

I have the device, but no saved data. I would expect apps for a smart phone may perform better.

The G's do go up significantly with wall contact.

I use a phone app too, the most I hit was just over 1g and it was crazy rutted up that night. An apple app "Gforce" has g's, speed, distance and a decent history to look back on
