(Mars, PA) The “New” UFo Championship has made some schedule additions and adjustments for the upcoming racing season. A total of 12 events have now been scheduled over 10 weekends for the re-launch of this innovative regional Super Late Model Tour.
Dog Hollow Speedway has added two events that were already on the track’s 2015 schedule to the UFo tour. The “Sam Barley Memorial” on Friday, July 3 and the “Flying Floyd Kline Klassic Memorial” on Saturday, August 29 will both pay $3,000 to win for a 41 lap feature.
Promoter Dan Savino has seriously stepped up the Super Late Model program at Dog Hollow in 2015 with five championship events for the class. The UFo banner will fly over all 5 of these events, also including the Shawn McGarvey Championship on Friday, June 12, the “Connor Bobik Make-A-Wish Race” on Sunday, July 19 and the multi-day “ThunderDog Showdown spectacular on September 24-25-26. Dog Hollow Speedway will be a prime destination for late model teams and fans in 2015 with its UFo Super Late Model events as well as its Crate Late Model events running under the new CARS series.
Port Royal Speedway has moved their previously announced UFo Championship May date to Saturday, June 20. This event will also now see a payoff increase to $3,000 to win for the 35 lap feature. This will be the first-ever UFo event on the ½ mile clay superspeedway. Port Royal is well-known for its strong Super Late Model program and is an excellent partner in the UFo alliance. The UFo Super Late Models will also appear at Port Royal on Saturday, September 5 for the “Butch Renninger 33.”
Hesston Speedway will host the UFo Super Late Models four times during the year including the “DR Eriksen Grand Prix” on Sunday, May 24, “Revolution 2015” on Thursday, July 2, “Speedmonster Mach 3” on Saturday, July 25 and “Superthunder Road” on Sunday, September 6. The “New” UFo Championship will be part of Tyler County Speedway’s “Mega-100” weekend with $5,000 to win events on both Friday and Saturday, July 10-11.

With the increase of events, the “New” UFo Championship bonus point fund has also been redistributed. UFo will boast a point fund of $19,500 if all 12 scheduled races are completed, upon fulfillment of sponsor and track point fund obligations. The UFo Champion is now scheduled to receive $4,400 and will now pay eight positions. If less than 12 events are completed, the point bonus fund will be adjusted according to the specified scale. Point fund sponsors include Hoosier Tire Mid-Atlantic, American Racer, Lias Tire, Precise Racing Equipment and Townsend Gas and Oil.
