7th Annual Appalachian Mountain Speedweek Welcomes Loco-Motives as 2015 Series Title Sponsor; Implements a Cost Saving Tire Rule.

The Appalachian Mountain Speedweek, in conjunction with James Stasiowski, is proud to announce that Loco-Motives, LLC. has signed on as the title sponsor of the popular Mid-Atlantic Super Late Model racing series for 2015.

Loco-Motives, LLC is a family owned company started, very simply as a children’s amusement operation within a Washington D.C. shopping mall. Over the past decade the company has grown to the point of having its trackless train systems in shopping malls & centers from Coast to Coast, with trains presently being operated in 24 shopping establishments. Providing its clients with a full service operation including equipment, fully trained operators, insurance, marketing partnerships and most importantly fun has been the main reason behind Loco-Motive’s success. A success, which has come without sacrificing any of the company’s core values, which among others, is offering a magical & memorable experience to train riders young and old, while providing the highest standards of customer services to their riders and shopping center partners alike. “I am not sure we could ever ask for a better title sponsor for the series” said series co-promoter, Kurt Smith. “Jim has been around this sport for a long time, with the main reason being his love of Dirt Late Model racing and that certainly fits perfect with the reason Jason and I continue to keep this series operating. His involvement can do nothing but make our speedweek better moving forward. We really appreciate the competitors that support us every year and with great sponsors such as Jim and Loco-Motives we can afford to have a lot of incentives to pay them back for their support. There are a lot of nice things in the works that we can pass down to our drivers this year” added Smith.

“We are excited for this year” stated co-promoter Jason Clapper. “Things are just coming together better than expected. We are honored to have six speedways that are willing to work with each other for the betterment of the sport and now having Jim and Loco-Motives partnering with us makes our Speedweek that much stronger.” said Clapper.

In a move to make the series more cost effective for the teams, the Loco-Motives Appalachian Mountain Speedweek would like to announce a Tire Hardness Rule for all 4 corners of the car in 2015. It is as follows:
Appalachian Mountain Speedweek Tire Compound Amendment 03.10.15
American Racer: 44 or harder
Hoosier: 1300 or harder
All tires must punch or durometer a minimum of 40 at all times.

“In looking for ways to help the competitors cut expenses this seemed like the most obvious choice for Jason and I” said Kurt Smith. “We discussed our options with both tire manufacturers and everyone was in agreement that is would help save the teams from having to purchase soft tires for qualifying. For the most part the tracks that are a part of our series tend to lean towards a minimum of a 1300 or 44 come feature time anyway. This will allow drivers in our area to run the tire compounds that they run all year” stated Smith.
