how do you measure shock and spring drop? Also how do you measure front to rear spacing on the birdcage?

From the center of the axle to the center of the shock or spring mount is the amount of drop on the birdcage. If you are talking LR drop as in how far the axle drops from ride height you measure at ride height from top of axle to a set point above, then jack up the car under the drivers legs until chain or undersling stops it and measure again difference between the two measurements is the "drop" 4-5 inches is average.

Most chassis builders have a set measurement for birdcage side to side. If you have a homemade car or something you can't contact them, try to get the bars pointed slightly to the center of the car when looking from the back, and get the top of the spring in 5-10degrees.
