CARTERSVILLE, GA – The NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series will reach a major milestone for the second of two races at Waycross Motor Speedway in Waycross, GA on April 11. That will be the 200th Race for the NeSmith Late Models in its 11-year history, and Wholesale Automotive of Waycross, GA will help the series celebrate by paying $200 to the Fast Qualifier.
Waycross Motor Speedway will be the next stop for the NeSmith Late Models with Rounds 6 and 7 of the 2015 season. The first-ever race for the NeSmith Late Models at Waycross Motor Speedway will be a 40-lap $2,000-to-win race on April 10. The 200th Race for the series will be a 50-lap $2,500-to-win race on April 11.
The 100th race for the NeSmith Late Models was held at East Alabama Motor Speedway in Phenix City, AL on July 4, 2011, and was won by Terrance Nowell of Phenix City, AL. Going into the Waycross Motor Speedway race, Walker Arthur of Forest, VA has a 72-point lead in the NeSmith Late Model point standings.
The defending and two-time National Champion Ronnie Johnson of Chattanooga, TN trails Arthur by 72 points, but just 52 points separate Johnson and the sixth-place driver, NASCAR Xfinity competitor Cale Conley of Vienna, WV.
Ryan King of Seymour, TN is third, 26 points behind Johnson, and leads the Rookie of the Year point standings. Chase Edge of LaFayette, AL is fourth, four points behind King. Ryan Crane of Panama City, FL is fifth, 16 points behind Edge, and is second in the Rookie of the Year points chase, 20 points behind King.
