2015 American DLM Rankings
In the aDLMr drivers are rewarded for showing up often and performing well against the top competition!!!

670 drivers have started at least one aDLMr Ranked feature as of March 30, 2015.

80 of 880 or 9.90% of aDLMr ranked features have been run.

Apologies for the late post this week, I do this in my spare time and this week I have had very little spare time (getting paid takes priority).

Editorial Note(s): Last weeks ranking contained a slight error, the ranking order was correct, however the published points were wrong. The error has been corrected.

I have added item to the aDLMr formula, the change will be incorporated from this ranking forward . This week it appears only couple of drivers in the Top 100 benefited from the change, those two drivers are Davey Johnson and Austin Rettig. The change created a situation in which some drivers recieved points in a category they previously had zero points. Over the entire race year this change will have very little impact on the rankings, but it will make the rankings more accurate.

How in the Hell can Weaver go 4 for 4 to start the season and only be ranked 33rd not counting the second half of last year that he had.

I think this is based on level of competition and money up for grabs and is ONLY based on 2015 (as it should be). If you start counting the end of last year Bloomquist would be #1 and Lanigan #2 and neither of them have certainly lit the world on fire in 2015.

Thanks,
Jeff.

How in the Hell can Weaver go 4 for 4 to start the season and only be ranked 33rd not counting the second half of last year that he had. The average number of starts for the 32 drivers ranked ahead of Randy Weaver is 13.03. Of those drivers only Shane Clanton has more wins (5) than Weaver. 13 of those 32 drivers have more winnings than Weaver. Weaver’s start to the season is definitely impressive, and if he keeps it up he will be at the top of the aDLMr before we know it. I for one hope puts on great show at his next race, because I will be there.

So what all does the rankings take in account? I think it's a really neat and fairly accurate way of seeing how the drivers are doing overall.

The aDLMr ranking system is fairly complicated.

Each race has a unique value that is based on the characteristics of that race. The value range is unlimited.

A driver’s finish in the feature of a particular race determines the stats the driver receives for that particular race.

There are quite a few variables accounted for in the aDLMr.

List of Variables
Winner’s Purse
aDLMr Purse Structure Estimation
Car Count
Late Model Type
Driver’s Feature Performance
A Driver’s Number of Ranked Feature Appearances

From these variables the aDLMr system then breaks everything down into an additional 14 categories. Those 14 categories are used to determine how driver’s performance stacks up against all other DLM drivers that have competed in a aDLMr feature. I plan to gather results for about 880 ( +/-50) races this year. That means I will gather stats on about 2500 drivers in 2015.

To date approximately 195,069 data points make up the 2015 aDLMr. I estimate by the end of the race season 6,681,849 data points will make up the rankings.

Approximately 9.9% of the aDLMr.race season has occurred, but only 2.92% of the data points have been gathered.
