Old Man’s Garage Spring Nationals presented by Schaeffer Oil at Ponderosa Speedway Rained Out April 3
Junction City, KY-April 3, 2015- Ponderosa Speedway track promoter Jerry Denson and staff were set to begin the 2015 racing season on Friday evening April 3 at the 3/8 mile D-shaped red clay oval better known as “Kentucky’s Baddest Bullring” with the 3rd Annual Spring Showdown that would feature the Ray Cook promoted Old Man’s Garage Spring Nationals presented by Schaeffer Oil, but Mother Nature would dictate otherwise.
Heavy rains began falling around the track around 6:30 p.m. on Thursday evening and with the rains stretching on into the night, the track and grounds are totally soaked from the precipitation. Also, with a weather forecast calling for even more rain and thunderstorms throughout the day on Friday, the track and Spring Nationals officials were left with no option but to cancel the scheduled racing program. No make up date has been announced at this time.
The American Dirt Allstars that were scheduled to be part of this event, paying $1,000 to win for KDRA Super Stocks, will now be in action at Ponderosa Speedway on Friday May 1, with the KDRA Super Stocks still racing for $1,000 to win. The $2,000 to win Pro Late Model special presented by Jay Construction and Restoration will also be rescheduled, with that date to be announced at a later time.
