Full Racing Program Added to Ponderosa Speedway Schedule for Friday April 10!
Ponderosa Speedway has added a full racing program to its 2015 schedule for this Friday April 10. Due to the first two events being weathered out (this date was originally scheduled as an off date), track promoter Jerry Denson has added a full racing program of competition to the schedule for this Friday April 10. The full racing program will feature Super Late Models, Modifieds, Pro Late Models, KDRA Super Stocks, and Mini-Cup/Cyclones.
Mother Nature Plays Havoc with Ponderosa’s Season Opening Events
Ponderosa Speedway track promoter Jerry Denson and staff were set to begin the 2015 racing season on March 27, but Mother Nature would be uncooperative as wet and cold weather forced the cancellation of the scheduled season opening event. Mother Nature was also the winner of the Old Man’s Garage Spring Nationals presented by Schaeffer Oil Spring Showdown event as well, as heavy rain, in some spots up to five inches, saturated the region and forced the program to be cancelled and it will not be made up.
Pro Late Model and American Dirt Allstar Specials Have Been Rescheduled!
The Pro Late Model division was scheduled to race for $2,000 to win on April 3, but was weathered out. The event has been rescheduled for Friday April 24 and will be 40 laps and pay $2,000 to win (this event is presented by Jay Construction and Restoration). The American Dirt Allstars were also set to race for $1,000 to win at the April 3 event that was rained out, but there contest has been rescheduled for Friday May 1 and will be 25 laps and pay $1,000 to win for the KDRA Super Stocks that evening.
Ponderosa Speedway Now an Official Distributor for Dragon Racing Fuel!
Ponderosa Speedway will now be an official distributor of Dragon Racing Fuel (formerly TORCO). There will be Dragon Racing Fuel available at Ponderosa Speedway for competitors to purchase. For more information about purchasing Dragon Racing Fuel, contact track promoter Jerry Denson at (606) 235-0190.
Transponder Scoring/Timing and RACEceivers in Use at Ponderosa Speedway in 2015!
Ponderosa Speedway has taken delivery on their transponder system that will be used in the timing and scoring of the race cars for the 2015 racing season. Drivers can purchase their own transponders if they wish or they can rent them for $10 from the track each week (if a driver uses his own transponder, there is a $5 user fee). Pouches for mounting and holding the transponders will also be available and it is highly suggested that racers purchase their own transponder pouch so they can attach it to the specified area on their car and just leave the pouch in place. Also, RACEceivers will once again be mandatory in all divisions in competition at Ponderosa Speedway during the 2015 season.

World of Outlaws Late Model Series Coming to Ponderosa Speedway on Friday May 8!
The World of Outlaws Late Model Series will make its first-ever appearance at Ponderosa Speedway on Friday May 8. The event is expected to bring many racers and fans to Ponderosa Speedway for the very first time, along with some drivers making appearances for the first time in several race seasons. The Super Late Models will race for $10,000 to win in a 50 lap main event, with Modifieds also in action racing for $2,500 to win in their feature contest. Also in action that evening will be Pro Late Models and KDRA Super Stocks in competition in a full racing program (the Mini-Cup/Cyclone division will be off that evening). There will also be a canned-food drive at this event that will benefit God’s Food Pantry in Junction City. There will be drawings for gift cards throughout the evening, with each person that donates a can good getting one ticket per can good they donate.
