CARTERSVILLE, GA – The NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series National Touring races scheduled for this weekend at Waycross Motor Speedway in Waycross, GA are a go. NeSmith Racing and Waycross Motor Speedway officials have consulted with each other, and local weather forecasters have said the chances are very good that any rain will stay away to get the races in.
This Friday night at Waycross Motor Speedway, the NeSmith Late Models will compete in Round 6 of the 2015 season with a 40-lap $2,000-to-win main event. On Saturday night, Round 7 for the NeSmith Late Models will be a 50-lap $2,500-to-win main event, and the 200th race for the series since its inception in 2005.
“We have been in contact with Waycross Motor Speedway officials, who have been in contact with their local National Weather Service Office,” NeSmith Racing Series Director Adam Stewart said. “The weather people have downgraded the chance of rain on Friday to 20 percent, and there is a chance of rain on Saturday night after 11 p.m. so we will run our main event early in the evening on Saturday to get it in. The races are on and we’re ready to go!”
On both Friday and Saturday, the pit gate will open at 2 p.m. with NeSmith Late Model Pre-race Registration and Technical Inspection from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. The Drivers Meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. with Hot Laps and Racing to follow.
