Currently Randy Weaver may be the best in the Nation!

He certainly has made a case for it, if he had run a few more races outside of the regional series' he may be on top. The nights he won with the regional series' I don't think it would have mattered if Bloomquist, Richards, Langian, or anyone else was in the field -- he was going. Not a huge fan of the Longhorn deal but he sure is making them look good (along with a few others -- they have a real talented field of drivers).

Thanks,
Jeff.

I think he should be in the top 10 easy this week. I'm big weaver fan but I don't do let that go in my rankings " don't matter if I kind dislike a driver or not,far is far" week I had him in my top 20 not 37th nor 9th because he didn't have enough races this year. But he did beat davenport twice and davenport is #1 on this ranking. But after this mth ends, he going be racing on some of the woo and lucas tours beginning of may-end June. I hope wins ever one ;) .................. But It looks like Virginia motor speedway got more points than tazewell. Would think tazewell had a stronger field. How is Richard ranked higher than jimmy when jimmy came in 2nd?? It don't matter how many laps you lead it's the last lap finish. And how does Scott jump from 4th to 2nd with a 3rd place finish over josh who was 2nd and came in 3rd too? Then davenport jumps over jimmy to #1 when both came in 2nd. Last week jimmy had 198.93 points and davenport had 198.67 and now davenport has 199.65 and jimmy 199.16... That gives davenport .98 points for a 2nd place finish and jimmy .23 for 2nd place finish. Total confused with all this scoring!!!

Its all based on strength of field, I think the VMS show had a stronger field so it weighs a little bit more. As far as Josh being ahead of Owens, I think that is based on what was done before Tazwell. Jimmy has not had the best start to his year, compared to Josh who has three national wins so far in strong fields.

I'm sure they will both be there at the end though, I for one am just glad to see Bloomquist and Lanigan are not dominating. They are both near the top, but last year Bloomquist ran away.

Thanks,
Jeff.

Of course VMS got more points than Tazwell. It paid double to win and probably had a stronger field top to bottom.

If Richards hangs on to win instead of finishing 3rd. He probably stays ahead of Bloomer.... Heck is maybe #1. Look at margin between the top 5, it's less than .5. So every position matters.

Weaver 14th is probably too low. But he really has one national win(based on competition). He is trending in the right direction. 2 weeks he was in the 50s or 60s as far as rankings in this system.

It doesn't really where Weaver is ranked imo. He's the hottest driver in the nation hands down. I'd say anywhere he rolls in next week, no matter who is there, he's seen as a threat. He beat pretty much every Lucas top runner at VMS but Owens and Carrier.

These ranking polls make for some good discussion, they just don't hold much water to me.

Total confused with all this scoring!!! The system takes into account a driver’s entire body of work; not just the last couple of weeks. All 111 aDLMr races to date are also taken into account. The aDLMr is sort of counterculture when you consider our society thrives off of “what have you done for me lately”.

The field of drivers that show up to a race matters. The type of late models being raced matters. The purse matters.

The number of races and wins of Steve Banal and Jon Mitchell are the most comparable to Randy Weaver.

Steve Banal has raced in 4 aDLMr ranked races; he has won 3 of those races. The other race he finished last (18th). His 3 wins came in races with the following Race Competition Rating (RCR) Rank; 100th, 103rd, and 98th. Steve Banal has a aDLMr rating of 156.06 which ranks 158th out of 884 drivers. Average RCR Rank is 99.25 which ranks 712. Strength of Schedule (SoS) Rank 358.

Jon Mitchell has raced in 6 aDLMr ranked races; he has won 4 of those races. His other two finishes are and 14th and 2nd. His 4 wins came in races with the following Race Competition Rating Rank; 91st, 104th, 92nd and 84th. Jon Mitchell has a aDLMr rating of 172.29 which ranks 89th out of 884 drivers. Average RCR Rank is 79.17 which ranks 641. SoS Rank 265.

Randy Weaver has raced in 5 aDLMr ranked races; he has won 5 of those races. His 5 wins came in races with the following Race Competition Rating Rank; 58th, 42nd, 44th, 30th and 1st. Randy has a aDLMr rating of 195.54 which ranks 14th out of 884 drivers. Average RCR rank is 35.00 which ranks 105. SoS Rank 66.

This week’s #1 driver is Jonathan Davenport. He has raced in 17 aDLMr ranked races; he has won 2 of those races. His aDLMr rating is 199.65 (perfect is 201.00). Average RCR Rank is 15.59 which ranks 16. SoS Rank 2.

Don O’Neal has the best Average RCR Rank; 9.29 in 14 aDLMr features. His SoS Rank is 3.

The aDLMr rating is an aggregate rating; not a sum of points earned. The maximum rating a driver can have is 201.00. The aggregate rating is created from 14 different ratings categories.

Joh Mitchell doing really good on the supr tour 4 wins and 2nd place last sat. He had that mastersbilt hooked up. Wondering if he going race at Greenville 2k supr race or thunder valley 5k on the 24th-25th

Once more races are completed, the rankings will be much more stable and complete. Kudos to SDLM for doing this, I think it's really cool.

Same here........and what's even cooler is that when people start asking about this guy or that guy , he always posts back and is intelligent about it with his facts.

This type of poll should be the end all to be all at the end of the season........final rankings based from pure statistics, not just opinion.

Completely agree BBQ, really enjoy the responses. If you want to know why someone is where he can tell you. I was surprised to see that Josh Richards had the toughest schedule so far. But I was also surprised to see that the King of the Commonwealth at VMS was the #1 race in terms of the strength of the field.

Thanks,
Jeff.

Jeff, I actually edited the post that had Richards with best Average RCR. Don O'Neal tops that category. The RCR stat takes into account several factors. The drivers that show up are just one factor. I do not have access to the rankings right now but I believe Bloomquist has the highest SOS, followed by Davenport.

With results like that in one night. He should climb the list real fast. :)
