The response for "Salute To A Champion" is overwhelming!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This event is turning into something amazing for our local drivers. Currently if a driver was to lead every lap and take the checked flag they would win over $9,079.00........ The current overall purse is over $25,000.00 plus, with Hard Charger Money, Heat Race Winners Money, B-main Winners Money, Fast Time Money and a New Track Record Money on the line, this could be the biggest non-sanctioned event in the tri-state area......... On April 18th the Dirt Capitol will host the "Salute To A Champion" for Rodney Franklin. As most everyone knows, Rodney's health is very fragile and the Franklin Family along with the Dirt Capitol will be honoring a great man, an outstanding driver and an even better father & husband........ General Manager Keya Davis, "The response for the lap money and finishing order money has elevated this event to new heights. Rodney was a respected competitor and did so much for the Hagerstown Speedway. The Dirt Capitol is pleased to be a major part of this event"....... This time trialed, heat raced, 33 lap featured event will pull in Late Model race teams from the tri-state area to see who will claim the top prize. Also in action on April 18th will be the Late Model Sportsmans, Pure Stocks, Hobby Stocks and All American Outlaws. Warm-ups will start at 6:30pm with time trials at 7:00pm. Grandstands will be $20 with pits at $32........ Once we get all the lap money and finishing order money, we will post all the businesses and individuals that sponsored a lap or finish position........... If you would like to sponsor a lap or finish position, the Dirt Capitol must receive your money before Wednesday April 15th. The minimum sponsorship is $33.
