View Full Version : Roaring Knob and Hagerstown Up Next for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series

WAYCROSS, GA (April 21, 2015) The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series returns to action this weekend as the premier dirt late model touring sanction heads to the Mid-Atlantic for a pair of $10,000 to win events. The series will travel to Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex in Markleysburg, Pennsylvania on Friday, April 24th with action shifting to Hagerstown Speedway in Hagerstown, Maryland on Saturday, April 25th.

The LOLMDS is set to make its fifth appearance at the Rick Jones-promoted Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex. Scott Bloomquist of Mooresburg, Tennessee has two series victories at this track with Earl Pearson Jr. of Jacksonville, Florida winning the series’ last visit to the 3/8-mile oval.

A complete show of Miller Welders Time Trials, Heat Races, B-Mains, and a $10,000 to win, 50-lap feature is on tap for Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex. The Street Stock and Mod-Lite divisions will also be on the track that evening. Pit gates will remain open all day, prior to the pit area being cleared and re-opening at 3:00pm. General Admission gates open at 4:00pm, with a driver autograph session from 6:00pm – 6:45pm, followed by Hot Laps at 7:30pm. Hagerstown Speedway, known as the “Capital of Dirt Racing”, will host the nation’s best dirt late model talents, along with an always-stout group of regional drivers on Saturday, April 25th, for the running of the 34th Annual Stanley Schetrompf Founders Day Classic. The ultra-competitive LOLMDS has seen an impressive streak of eight different winners in eight races at Hagerstown Speedway. Jimmy Owens returns as the defending champion of the event.

The 34th Annual Stanley Schetrompf Founders Day Classic will be a complete show with Miller Welders Time Trials, Heat Races, B-Mains, and the $10,000 to win, 50-lap main event. Joining the LOLMDS as support classes at Hagerstown Speedway will be the Late Model Sportsman and Pure Stock Divisions. Pit gates will open at 2:00pm with General Admission gates opening at 5:00pm and Hot Laps set for 7:00pm. Jonathan Davenport of Blairsville, Georgia leads the current Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Championship point standings. He holds a ten (10) point lead over four-time series national champion, Earl Pearson Jr. of Jacksonville, Florida. Jimmy Owens (TN), Devin Moran (OH), and Eddie Carrier Jr. (WV) round out the top five in series championship point standings. Sixth through tenth in the current series standings include: Don O’Neal (IN), Steve Francis (KY), Jared Landers (AR), Scott Bloomquist (TN), and Brandon Sheppard (IL).
