CARTERSVILLE, GA – There are six races at five tracks in five different states on the schedule of events for Week 6 of the 27-week NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division Presented By AR Bodies 2015 season. The highlight of Week 6 will be a pair of races during Talladega NASCAR Weekend at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL.

The NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division will be in action and share the festive night time stage of Talladega NASCAR Weekend at Talladega Short Track on both Friday night and Saturday night with the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Touring Division. The NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stocks will run a full program each night.

The NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division will have the opportunity to show off their exciting style of racing to an entirely new audience because you just never know who is going to make that short golf cart ride from across Speedway Boulevard. NASCAR drivers, car owners, crew members and their fans will be all over the Hornet’s Nest this weekend.

Hattiesburg Speedway in Hattiesburg, MS will be in action with a NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division race this Friday night, and Duck River Raceway Park in Wheel, TN will have Qualifying and Heat Races on Friday night for a two-day NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division show.

St. Tammany Raceway in Lacombe, LA will welcome back the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division as part of their weekly program this Saturday night. Also hosting a NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division Week 6 Saturday night event will be Southern Raceway in Milton, FL. Duck River Raceway Park will run their NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division feature race on Saturday night.

Richie Stephens of Salem, AL leads the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with 230 points and holds a 28-point lead over Jason Jarrell of Hattiesburg, MS, who has 202 points. Brooks Strength of Raymond, MS is third with 200 points and four wins this season.

A gauge we will begin using to see where a driver really sits in the standings is the Weekly Point Average, or WPA. That is a driver’s point total divided by the number of weeks they have competed. Stephens leads the point standings, but has the fourth highest WPA among the 11 drivers in the Top 10 at 46 out of a possible 50 after five weeks of racing, and Jarrell has the 11th highest WPA at 40.4 after five weeks of racing.

Strength is showing just that from his third spot in the standings with 200 points and the highest WPA, a perfect 50. The WPAs of Strength and the rest of the drivers in the Top 10 of the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division point standings are based on four weeks of racing.

John Smartt of Manchester, TN is fourth in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with 187 points, but he has the second highest WPA among the Top 10 drivers at 46.75. Jay Geddie of Ellisville, MS is fifth in the standings with 185 points, and the third highest WPA at 46.25.

Bryan Cox of Saucier, MS is sixth in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with 183 points, and has the fifth highest WPA at 45.75. David Williamson of Seminary, MS and Larry Faulk of Monroeville, AL are tied for the seventh spot in the standings with 181 points apiece and tied with the sixth highest WPA at 45.25.

Branden Harris of Molino, FL is ninth in the standings with 178 points, and has the eighth highest WPA among the Top 10 drivers at 44.5. David Windham of Florala, AL and Michael Williams of Meridian, MS are tied for the tenth spot in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division standings with 169 points apiece and they’re tied for the ninth highest WPA at 42.25.

Drivers in the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division will compete against each other nationally using a points system that will count their best 14 weekly point totals over a 27-week season from March 23 through September 27. The $5,000 National point fund will pay $2,000 to the National Champion and pay back to the Top 10 drivers in the final point standings.

NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division competitors also have the option to compete with the economical steel-head 350 horsepower Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine that is available at NeSmith Chevrolet in Claxton, GA for $3,495 with free next day delivery anywhere in the Southeast.

Eight of the 11 drivers in the Top 10 of the NeSmith/AR Bodies Street Stock Division point standings after the first five weeks of competition have a $3,495 Chevrolet Performance 602 Circle Track Engine under the hoods of their respective race cars.
