I race a half mile asphalt track and I am running 13inch Hoosier tires. I have 3.57 rear end gears in it now at the end of the straight in 2nd gear I am turning 8100-8200rpm which is to much I think and in 3rd I am turning 5500-5600rpm. Looking for opinion on what size rear end gear to run looking for opinions thanks.

What rear end & trans are you using? Leave it in 2nd & try a 3.08 or 3.27 ring/pinion, Ive never heard of a 3.57 for a ford rear... but if you have a very well built motor, 8K is what a lot of guys turn weekly with the 2.3L.

Some minor help with some quick math on your part. Tranny gear X rear gear = final ratio to the tires. For every .1 change, up or down, in the final ratio, the engine rpm will change 125-150 rpm. Whether the ratio was changed in the tranny or the rear or a combination of both. -Dave-

There is a final drive ratio chart in the technical section at www.powerbyace.com
