World of Outlaws Late Model Series Invades Ponderosa Speedway on Friday May 8!

Junction City, KY-May 3- Ponderosa Speedway track promoter Jerry Denson will have the World of Outlaws Late Model Series visit the 3/8 mile D-shaped red clay oval better known as “Kentucky’s Baddest Bullring” for the first-time ever on Friday May 8 in an event that will see the Super Late Models race for $10,000 to win. Also in action will be the Sweet Beans and Things Modifieds racing for $2,500 to win, along with a full racing program for the Premier Integrity Solutions Pro Late Models and Lawson Tractor Sales and Service KDRA Super Stocks.

Also of note, the event will serve as a fundraiser for God’s Pantry in Junction City, with all race fans encouraged to bring canned non-perishable food items to donate when they enter the grounds and for each can donated, individuals will receive one ticket per item and be eligible for drawings for several gift cards that will be given away during the evening. Additionally, with the large crowd that is expected, lawn chairs will NOT be permitted in the general admission seating area, but stadium seats will be allowed and there will be no marking off of seats during the week leading up to the show.

Ponderosa Speedway will present the World of Outlaws Late Model Series in competition on Friday May 8 as the WoO LMS will sanction the Super Late Models in a 50 lap, $10,000 to win event. The Sweet Beans and Things Modifieds will race for $2,500 to win in a 30 lap main event as well. Completing the racing card on May 8 will be the Premier Integrity Solutions Pro Late Models racing for $600 to win and Lawson Tractor Sales and Service KDRA Super Stocks racing for $400 to win. The World of Outlaws Late Model will have full time trials, while all other divisions will utilize the practice/time trials combo format to set heat race line-ups. RACEceivers are mandatory in all divisions and transponder scoring will be in use. Drivers will pick up their transponders at the driver registration window and drivers need to be signed in by the time of the drivers meeting at 7:00 p.m.

The entry fee for the World of Outlaws Late Model Series competitors will be $110. The Super Late Model tire rule for the event is as follows: Hoosier 1300, 1350, 1450, and 1600; American Racer 44, 48, 53, and 56. With the Sweet Beans and Things Modifieds also in competition for extra money, there will be a $60 entry fee for Modifieds and that entry fee does include the rental of a transponder.

Activities for the May 8 racing program at Ponderosa Speedway will see the pit area and general admission area open at 4:00 p.m. The drivers meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m., with practice laps set to start at 7:15 p.m., while racing will take the green flag at 8:30 p.m. All times are Eastern Daylight Times. Tickets prices for the World of Outlaws Late Model Series event on Friday May 8 in the general admission area will be $30, with children ages 12 and under FREE. A pit pass will be $45.
