we are running a mid 80's metric street stock. Broke a ball joint on lf upper. Bent the top control arm. The new replacement has the small metric ball joint, the rf has the bigger truck ball joint, will this affect the handling of the car? Other than physical size of ball joint why would someone use the truck joints? Also why would someone put a camaro spindle on the rf?

The heavier truck ball joints are stronger, thats why people use them. Ball joint height will effect front roll center. A Camaro spindle is stronger than a metric but also taller which will effect roll center. So a taller RF spindle with a taller ball joint would put more angle in the RF upper arm giving you more camber gain under compression but also moving the RC to the right.

truck ball joints are also taller. Very common to run truck joints on metric cars. Eric
