Billy Moyer Heads to Magnolia Motor Speedway on Heels of LOLMDS Triple Shot

(BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS) Billy Moyer and his #21 team headed to the states of Illinois and Kentucky from April 30-May 2 for a trio of Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series showdowns. On Thursday at the tiny Macon Speedway in Macon, Illinois, Billy set Fast Time of the 30 entrants during qualifying and later won his heat race. After starting the $12,000 to win headliner from the pole position, Billy led laps 21-31 and was sitting in the second spot on lap 58 when he suffered a flat right rear tire. The Batesville, Arkansas standout wound up a disappointing twenty-first in the final rundown of the 100-lap grind at Macon.

The weekend then concluded with a pair of $10,000 to win shows at Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois and Paducah International Raceway in Paducah, Kentucky. On Friday night at Granite City, Billy grabbed the fourth and final transfer spot through his heat race, but later suffered more problems (vibration in driveline) in the 50-lapper, which led to a twenty-third place effort. At PIR on Saturday evening, "Mr. Smooth" won his heat race in preliminary action prior to finishing seventh in the 50-lap main event. The Billy Moyer Racing (BMR) team has circled one lone event on their calendar for the upcoming weekend, as they plan to travel to Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi on Saturday evening, May 9. The COMP Cams Super Dirt Series and the Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series will co-sanction the single-day program on Saturday at “The Mag” and a $2,500 top prize has been earmarked for the winner.
