Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series Weekend at KY Lake Motor Speedway Rained Out
Calvert City, KY- May 16, 2015- The Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series events scheduled for Friday May 15 and Saturday May 16 at Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway in Calvert City, KY have fell victim to Mother Nature and are rained out for the weekend.
The opening night of the Bluegrass Nationals saw 44 drivers signed in for competition and just as the cars and drivers were set to take to the track for practice, rains began falling and series and track officials were forced to cancel the remainder of the program. With heavy rains falling in the early morning hours on Saturday morning May 16, series and track officials were left with no other option but to postpone the event scheduled for Saturday May 16 as well.
Officials with both the Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series and Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway are looking for a make-up that will be agreeable for both parties and once that date is reached, a reschedule date for the event will be announced. Drivers need to return to the track today to turn in their transponders, as there will be track officials at the track’s pit shack. Also, entry fees will carry over to the next event that drivers compete in with the Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series for those drivers that were signed in on Friday. If a driver or team has any question, please contact series race director Jeff Evans.
The next events on the Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series schedule is a three-race weekend in the state of Illinois as the tour will visit Farmer City Raceway in Farmer City, IL on Friday May 22 for a $1,500 to win event, Fairbury’s American Legion Speedway on Saturday May 23 for the 2nd Annual Gary Cook, Jr. Memorial that will pay $2,064 to win, and a first-ever trip to LaSalle Speedway in LaSalle, IL on Sunday May 24 for a $1,500 to win event.
