Clayton Miller Claims Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series Victory at FALS

Fairbury, IL-May 23, 2015- The Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series presented its second event of the 2015 Memorial Day Weekend Land of Lincoln tour at Fairbury’s American Legion Speedway in Fairbury, IL and Clayton Miller of Elkton, KY would score his second victory of the season and third career win with the tour by winning the 2nd Annual Gary Cook, Jr. Memorial. Miller’s win was worth $2,064 and can behind the wheel of the Lexington Landscape/Powell’s Transmission/Joe’s Small Engine/C. Blackwell Construction/Dane Elliott Industrial/Wilson’s Printworks/Mark Bush Racing sponsored #15 Bandit Race Car powered by a Tucker’s Performance Race Engine.

Two early cautions for spins by Dustin Mounce would slow the start, but once underway, Clayton Miller would grab the race lead and once he entered traffic around the midpoint of the race, Chad Kinder would close in and pressure Miller, but to no avail, as Miller would keep Kinder at bay and score the victory in the event. Kinder would finish in the second position, while Lance Dehm would join that pair on the podium with a third place finish. Hard charger award winner Tyler Nicely would start 17th and finish in the fourth position, with Jay Ledford completing the top five.

The remainder of the top ten at the completion of the Farmer City Raceway A-Main would be Lucas Lee, Mike McKinney, Vince Cooper, Josh Harris, and Jacob Poel. The 30 lap, $2,064 to win event would be slowed by two caution flags.

In preliminary action, Clayton Miller was the Quick Car Racing Product top qualifier among 28 entries at 14.054 seconds. Summit Racing Equipment heat one went to Mike McKinney, while Jay Ledford scored the win in Wiles Driveshafts heat two. Hypercoils heat three went to Clayton Miller, with Chad Kinder winning Frankland Racing Equipment heat four. The Out-Pace Racing Products B-Main went to Tyler Nicely, while Jeff Curl and Dustin Mounce were series provisional starters.

The next event for the Summit Racing Equipment American Modified Series will be tonight Sunday May 24 at LaSalle Speedway in LaSalle, IL for a first-time visit, paying $1,500 to win.
