Dennis Erb Racing Readies for Tazewell/Florence Doubleheader

(CARPENTERSVILLE, ILLINOIS) Dennis Erb Racing is currently headed south to enter a Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series doubleheader in the states of Tennessee and Kentucky. On Friday night, May 29, the bad-fast Tazewell Speedway in Tazewell, Tennessee will play host to the ‘Toyota Knoxville 50,’ while the venerable Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky will wrap up the double-dip on Saturday evening, May 30 with the 29th Annual ‘Ralph Latham Memorial.’ Both single-day showdowns will feature a complete show highlighted by $10,000 to win headliners. Dennis Erb, Jr. comes into the weekend eighth in the current version of the LOLMDS point standings. Additional information can be obtained by clicking on www.lucasdirt.com.

The #28 team is fresh off a trip to the immaculate Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri from May 21-23 for the 23rd edition of the ‘Show-Me 100.’ On Thursday night, the Lucas Oil MLRA Series kicked off the action-packed weekend with the ‘Cowboy Classic,’ which boasted a $5,045 top prize. Dennis laid down the eighteenth fastest lap in Group B during qualifying, but later climbed up to third to grab the final transfer spot through his heat race. After starting the 45-lap main event from the inside of the eighth row, the Carpentersville, Illinois standout eventually finished right where he started… in the fifteenth position.

On Friday evening, preliminary action for the ‘Show-Me 100’ took place and Dennis started off the night by posting the eleventh quickest time in Group A during the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series qualifying session. He then moved up to second in his stacked heat race to finish behind only prelim winner Tony Jackson, Jr. Unfortunately, inclement weather rolled into the area on Saturday and postponed the $30,000 to win crown jewel event until Sunday, July 12. When the 100-lapper does finally go green in a month-and-a-half, Dennis will start the ‘Show-Me 100’ from the outside of the fifth row.
