ULTIMATE Super Late Models Make Return to Wythe Raceway June 6th

Carnesville, Georgia (June 1, 2015) - The ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series is set to make a return to Rural Retreat, Virginia's Wythe Raceway for the first time since the 2012 season. There has been an ULTIMATE event on Wythe's schedule in both of the last 2 years however both the 2013 and 2014 were rained out. "Wythe is one of the most exciting and picturesque facilities in the country. We have been so disappointed to not be able to get our race in the last couple of years. We are hoping that the third time will be the charm this Saturday night." said ULTIMATE Series Director Kelley Carlton.

Though it has been 2 years since the ULTIMATE Supers took to Fred and Susan Brown's high-banked half mile oval many will remember the dominance that Moshiem, Tennessee driver Vic Hill demonstrated in the 2 events that year. Hill, also a renowned dirt late model engine builder, picked up the wins in both 2012 events. Hill also set fast time at both of those events and established a new track record (at that time) during the spring event. Hill says he will be back on Saturday to try and do it all again. "We have a brand new Longhorn Chassis that I have raced only once and we won with it at Volunteer Speedway. So I am pretty excited about bringing it up to Wythe. The two tracks are similar in size and banking so I believe we will have a good starting point to get going." Hill said.

Hill will certainly have to turn back a pair of fellow Longhorn drivers in ULTIMATE Series point leader Casey Roberts of Toccoa, Georgia and reigning ULTIMATE champion Dennis "Rambo" Franklin of Gaffney, South Carolina to get the winner's check. Roberts is experiencing one of his best seasons to date having already collected 6 special event wins thus far in 2015 including 4 on the ULTIMATE tour. Franklin has met with some misfortune early in the season but the popular South Carolinian is headed to one of his favorite tracks in Wythe Raceway with some good momentum after a big win at Lancaster (SC) Speedway last weekend.

Expected to be in action are Jeff Smith of Dallas, North Carolina, Casey Barrow of Savannah, Georgia, Kenny Collins of Colbert, Georgia, Anthony Sanders of Spartanburg, South Carolina, Luke Roffers of Concord, North Carolina and many other racers from all over East Tennessee, the Carolinas, Georgia and Virginia are expected to converge on one of the south's most beloved facilities. Pit gates open at 4 PM with the spectator gates opening at 5 PM. The drivers meeting is scheduled for 6:15 PM with racing scheduled to begin at 7:30. Grand stand tickets can be purchased in advance atwww.wytheraceway.com or at the gate the day of the show.
