Axle lenght for rocket

I was wondering if guys are buying new axles when they put a 1 inch shorter tube on the left side or are they taking the bolt out of the end of the axle its self ? need to know cause I had to put a new tube in my left side and the guy sent me the wrong length that I wanted and its 1 inch shorter like rocket is running now. thanks

if your running a strait spool, you may be able to take one or both bolts out, you will have to measure the bolts length sticking out and see if you can get that inch, ive done this before and sometimes you have to leave one bolt in all the way and grind the head to fit.

Yeah I had to take both bolts out of mine and they fit perfect

What you're after is the axle endplay. If you can take the bolts out and get the right end play you will be ok.
