Billy Moyer Continues on UMP Summer Nationals Trail this Week in Iowa and Illinois

(BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS) The Billy Moyer Racing (BMR) team snaked through the states of Indiana, Illinois, and Wisconsin from June 10-13 to enter the first four events on the grueling UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals tour. Things kicked off last Wednesday at Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, Indiana with the $5,000 to win ‘Hoosier Dirt Classic.’ Billy Moyer won his heat race and later led laps 3-31 of the 40-lap main event. He was passed in heavy lapped traffic by eventual winner Dennis Erb, Jr. and Billy was forced to settle for a strong runner-up performance in the series lid lifter.

At Kankakee County Speedway in Kankakee, Illinois on Thursday evening, another $5,000 top prize was on the line. Billy once again won his heat race in preliminary action, but suffered an untimely flat tire on lap 35 of the headliner. The popular driver known as “Mr. Smooth” returned to the track with fresh rubber and salvaged a seventh place effort in the 40-lapper.

Following a long trek north to the renowned Cedar Lake Speedway in New Richmond, Wisconsin, Billy competed in the two-day ‘Masters’ extravaganza over the weekend. On Friday night, Billy ran fourth in his heat race prior to picking off six competitors in the $5,000 to win feature event en route to a steady fourth place showing behind only winner Jimmy Mars, Jason Feger, and Frank Heckenast, Jr. In Saturday’s ‘Masters’ finale, which boasted a $10,000 payday, the Batesville, Arkansas superstar won his heat race and was leading the 50-lap A-Main on lap six when another flat tire dropped him to a disappointing twentieth place outing. Complete results from all four battles can be viewed online at www.thehelltour.com.

The #21 team has three more UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals showdowns circled on their racing calendar from June 17-20. The Farley Speedway in Farley, Iowa will play host to the cars and stars of the “Hell Tour” later tonight, while Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois and Fairbury American Legion Speedway in Fairbury, Illinois will hold Summer Nationals shows on Friday and Saturday respectively. A $10,000 paycheck will be up for grabs at each of the stops for the BMR team this week in Iowa and Illinois. More information on the triple shot can be accessed by clicking on www.thehelltour.com.
